I and my officemate left our office in Makati City at 9:45 AM to fetch some companions in Visayas Avenue, Quezon City. From there, we proceeded to Manila.
Traffic no. 1 - Heavy
Fom Buendia flyover to Guadalupe pedestrian overpass.
The cause – the innermost lane underneath the overpass was closed due to the ongoing clean-up of the overpass.
Time consumed – about 20 minutes
Traffic no. 2 - Heavier
From the corner of Elliptical Road and Quezon Avenue to the first U-Turn slot along Quezon Avenue - after EDSA.
The cause – half of the road is being occupied by the slot and aggravated by the huge volume of vehicles at that time.
Time consumed - about 40 minutes.
Traffic no. 3 - Heaviest
From Mabuhay (formerly Welcome) Rotunda up to . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Plaza Miranda, Quiapo.
The cause – the rally at the Plaza Miranda. No, it wasn’t the proximate cause because the rallyists were confined in the plaza. The real cause – the prying drivers who slowed down, some even stopped, to look at what’s happening.
Time consumed – about an hour.
Our total travel time was 2 hours and 45 minutes. It's good I brought a lot of patience.
The good lunch (steamed lapu-lapu, prawns, brocolli with scallops, and fried chicken) at Emerald Restaurant washed away my traffic suffering.
Thank God it’s Friday; and the traffic on the way back to Quezon City was just normal.
