We left very early in the morning from Naga City for the long drive home, which is about 11 hours. As per advice of a friend from Legaspi City, we didn’t take the longer route via Daet, Camarines Norte.
After about five hours of driving, we momentarily pulled over in Atimonan, Quezon to break the driving monotony and to stretch.

The Mermaid statue in Lamon Bay. The backdrop is the Alabat Island.
We again took the Old Zigzag Road in Quezon National Forest Park also in Atimonan, Quezon.

We side tripped to Tayabas City for our lunch at the “Kamayan sa Palaisdaan” then to Lucban, Quezon and bought the famous Lucban longaniza. We also visited the Lucban church.

Our travel was further protracted by the heavy traffic in Sariaya, Quezon, Alaminos & San Pablo, Laguna, and at the South Luzon Expressway. Finally, we arrived home safely at about 10:00 PM. I checked my odometer and it logged 1,101 kilometers.
