My flight is 5:10 AM and I woke up at 1:30 AM. Daughter Jaja was already preparing to go to her work. We left home at 2:20 AM. After dropping her off at her office, I proceeded to the NAIA Centennial Terminal 2. At the departure level, I noticed some changes. When was the last time I traveled using this terminal. I think it was in January last year.
At the check-in area, the queueing system has changed. Instead of the former one queue for every counter, now it’s one queue for about five counters. Inside the pre-departure area, after wearing my shoes, I made a survey of the place. It’s basically the same except for some new stores/restaurants. There are aIso four laptop stations. After my survey, I immediately went to one of the stations and brought out my laptop. And, there’s free Wi-Fi.
The plane left Manila on time and arrived Cagayan de Oro City 15 minutes ahead of the schedule. It was a bumpy ride up there for about 20 minutes. I was glad the weather in CDO was fine and sunny. From the airport, I took a taxi to the bus station. The aircon of our service vehicle is not working; so, I decided to take an aircon bus. I also considered renting a car; but, it’s too expensive at P3,500.00. The one way bus fare is P200 only. At the station, I asked the conductor the time the bus is leaving. “In 15 minutes”, he replied. Instead of looking for a restaurant to eat my breakfast, I just bought a wrap of five small hopia and bottled water and ate them inside the bus. The 3-hour trip to Valencia City was uneventful. During the trip, I either watched the sceneries or slept.
