In my efforts to improve my blogging and blog, I’m visiting other blogs, and relevant sites about writing, blogging and how to monetize my blog.
One of the sites that I’m visiting is “Earn Money from Blog”. From there, I opened the link to www.adesblog.com and read about his article “Every blogger should read this site www.dailywritingtips.com”. From that site, there’s a link to Daily Blog Tips. Wow, these are great!
It’s Friday, all right! And, thank God it is. Also, it’s the last Friday of the month.
But it wasn’t my payday yet. I’m receiving my salary once a month only - every 15th. Anyway, I wasn't looking forward for any gimmick tonight.
Friday was just the usual normal working day. As soon as I arrived at the office, I turned on my laptop. While drinking my first mug of coffee, I checked the news, my emails, blog, forums, and some government sites for updates.
The Standards & Conformance (S&C) Portal was launched by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) yesterday afternoon during the 2nd Quarter General Membership Meeting of the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. (PHILEXPORT) at Ballroom A of the Dusit Hotel Nikko Manila in Makati City.
DTI Secretary Peter B. Favila and USAID Acting Mission Director Daniel Moore II graced the occasion by giving their respective messages. Their presence attested to the importance and relevance of this project to the industry.
DTI's Bureau of Product Standards Director Jesus Motoomull presented and toured the attendees into the portal.
Recognizing the pressing need of exporters and other stakeholders for up-to-date and extensive information gateway on standards, trade-related regulations and other trade-related requirements, DTI embarked on the development of the portal
Yesterday was another Tuesday of bowling.
I arrived at the venue (SM Mega Mall Bowling Center) at around 5:45 PM. Suddenly, I remembered that my wife, Beng, requested me to buy dried squid from one of the stalls outside of the bowling center. So, I had to go out, bought the dried squid, and put it in the car. It would crush if I put it in my bowling bag.
My games last night were the best so far since the start of the tournament. My three (3) games averaged 179.33 (158 – 204 – 176). I opened three (3) frames in the first game. On the second game, I made several strikes, four (4) of which were consecutive (a four bagger) at the 9th and last frames (a punch out), with one (1) open frame. The third game had some strikes, two (2) were in a row (a double), and two (2) open frames.
Our team, FAG Bearing Center, won all the three (3) games against Team Atlas Consolidated Mining & Development.
ELAINE, my niece, is celebrating her birthday today (June 26). She is the eldest child of my eldest sibling, Evelyn. She’s also the eldest among my nieces/nephews. She lives in Quezon, Isabela.
MATTHEW, my nephew, will be celebrating his birthday tomorrow (June 27). He is the youngest child of my youngest sibling, Cristina. He’s also the youngest among my nephews/nieces. He lives in New South Wales, Australia.
Happy Birthday to both of you!
I received a birthday gift from Rudy C. this year. It’s Johnnie Walker Gold Label. It’s the first time that I heard about this label from JW. When he told me about the Gold Label, I thought it was the Fundador Gold. Thanks again, Rudy.
I knew about the Red, Black, & Blue Labels. Of the three, I’ve tasted the first two and gotten drunk. The Blue Label, which is the favorite of a former president, is very expensive. And, I couldn’t afford it and nobody would give that to me as a gift.

Curious, I passed by some wine stores to compare the Gold Label with the other labels. Unfortunately, the wine stores I visited have no Gold Label. So, I just browsed the internet.
We're running out of supplies and went shopping for groceries at SM City Fairview Supermarket this afternoon. While my wife, Beng, was shopping, I walked around - the basement, then to the ground floor, and up to third floor. After an hour of walk, I returned to the supermarket and found my wife still shopping. So, I got the cart and told her that I’d be going to queue to the cashier since the lines, as usual, were already long.
Finally, she finished her shopping. While waiting for our turn to pay, I went out of the supermarket and I approached a booth with green bags, which I spotted earlier..
The green bags have prints on both sides, “SAVE A BAG, SAVE THE WORLD.” on the upper portion, and EXCLUSIVELY FOR SM ADVANTAGE MEMBERS on the lower portion. On the middle portion of the one side, the logo of SM Supermarket Cares, and on the other side, the logo of Unilever Philippines.
31 days or a month ago (May 23), I registered with i.ph
My first encounter with i.ph was when I visited Atty. Adrian Sison’s blog last year. Atty. Sison is one of the hosts of the radio program “The Broadcaster’s Bureau”. It’s aired on weekdays over DWBR FM-104.3 khz. I had been an occasional listener of the program while driving to work until it changed its time slot. I revisited his blog during the campaign period this year to monitor the Ang Kapatiran Party’s campaign progress. He’s one of the senatorial candidates of the party.
While searching for something, I came across i.ph again. Out of curiosity, I opened the site but had no plan of signing up. Nonetheless, I checked whether my nickname “Tom” was still available as username, yet expecting it wasn’t anymore. But, surprisingly, it was; and, I signed up.
I just read this from Inquirer.net and thought of posting it here to expand the search for donor.
1 year-old Erin needs liver transplant
Inquirer
Last updated 02:06am (Mla time) 06/23/2007
MANILA, Philippines – Serene Isabel “Erin” Pasimio is not your usual patient in need of a liver donor.
The daughter of Francis Robert “Sonny” Pasimio of 15 Moscow Street, Eastville Filinvest, Antipolo City, is only a year old, too young to undergo surgery.
But if a liver transplant is her only hope to survive and live a normal life, her father, an AB Economics graduate of the Ateneo University, is willing to take the risk.
“The doctors feel that the surgery should happen as soon as possible to give her a chance,” Pasimio said in his e-mail to the Inquirer.
It’s a Nokia 6680.
No, it’s not a brand new phone but already used (by a former officemate). It’s just a replacement to my Nokia 9300 Communicator, which is for repair. The 9300 text messaging feature has already malfunctioned. Last week, I sent text messages and received some replies that they received numerous text messages with the same content. I opened the outbox; and the messages were still there and kept on resending. After rebooting the phone, the text messaging worked perfectly again; but, after a while, the problem recurred. This cycle happened several times until the text messaging failed to send.
